Community (previously Kibworth) Against Substance Misuse Initiative
Published on the Internet by Dr Kevin Feltham, Carlton House, Kibworth Harcourt, Leicestershire. LE8 0PE (updated October, 2012 )
At their meeting held on Friday 31st January the Harborough District Community Safety Partnership re-affirmed their commitment to support work with the community of Kibworth regarding recent tragic events involving young people and local concern over alcohol and substance misuse.
Recent multi-agency meetings arranged by the Partnership shared thoughts on a number of positive actions that may be helpful regarding the Kibworth concerns. The Partnership has endorsed the need for an initiative to raise adult awareness - Community Against Substance Misuse (CASM). A series of initial meetings have now been arranged to start this process of increasing awareness amongst parents and others within the community.
All of these meetings were open to anybody, and the first two (4th and 8th March) provided an opportunity to:
- meet and talk with experts, the police and local councillors
- exhibitions and displays
- Visit the Life Education Caravan (on Saturday 8th March only)
- discuss your worries and concerns
- find out about help and support
- learn about the "Chill out" bus
